Jay

Jay is sporting a new cast on his left leg after jumping off a toy box the day before vacation. No one liked to see anyone get hurt, but we all thought this would be devistating to him on vacation. We thought he would have to be sitting down all day inside. I heard he told the doctor he didnt like it and he wanted the doctor to take it off.

He is now very proud of it. I got him out of his car seat when they arrived after a few hours behind us due to some traffic and he couldnt wait to tell me he had a boo boo from jumping off the toy box. After just 3 days in this thing he went from dragging his leg behind him to basically walking on it. He did get a waterproof cast so we decided to pick up a small pool for him to play with his trucks in. He loves it.

Not sure if he should be moving around as much as he does, but he isnt in pain and he wont sit still anyways.

Apparently teaching kids to go to the bathroom is easier when done outside. It was pretty funny.

The Ride to the Beach

Yesterday the 20th was the day we drove down to Outer Banks, NC. Jack was great. He flew down to Virginia Beach in March, but this is the 1st time he has been on a long car ride.We left at 2:30am to beat the weather and traffic. We figured Jack would sleep a bunch while the sun was down, but around 5:30 he decided it was time to wake up and play. We were one step ahead of him because we got a portable DVD player for him to watch his shows.

He was great the whole way down. He got a little fussy the last hour, because he wanted out of his seat.

The Race for Ellie

On Sunday Jack went to the Race for Ellie 5k run/walk. We had a great time on the walk. Libby enjoyed all the people. Thanks to Todd our neighbor for letting us know about this great event and great cause. There were well over 1,000 people there by my guess. Check out the website for more information.

Dog Park

After the Race for Ellie, we decided to take Libby to the dog park which was close by. She has a blast running around with all the other dogs.

Today was a little different because it was Jack's 1st time to the dog park. He loved watching all the dogs run around and bark at each other. Jack was quite a hit with all the dogs. They all wanted to come smell the baby. So there was always a crowd around Jack. This was also a little different beause Libby thought she needed to police all the other dogs and make sure they werent getting too close. She wasnt defensive, but she wasnt running around as much as she normally would. She prefered to stay close to Jack.

After a long morning it was time for a nap!
